Grrrrrr……

By: Anne | May 31st, 2007

So Laurie, to answer your question, yes I have checked out the USL Live Broadband. Shame on me for not wanting to sit in rush hour mid-week traffic on the Bay Bridge, and trying to watch the webcast of the Victory/Charlston Battery game instead. But unfortunately I wound up wanting to throw my computer out the window. The live stream kept freezing every few seconds. I was hoping perhaps too many people were trying to watch, and decided to try it later. But no luck. It was just as bad the next day.

From the web highlights though, it looked like a quality game, and the Victory managed to draw. The Victory goal came from an awesome Ricardo Sanchez corner, headed in by Yuri “the Fury” Morales. Strengthening the back line for the Victory was Patrick Ianni. A former U-21 Netherlands World Cup participant, Ianni comes to the Victory on loan from Houston Dynamo.

That sucks. Too bad USL web streaming doesn’t sound any better than MLS.

That’s ridiculous. How is it that you can watch La Liga on Singapore TV via P2P with decent quality and rarely any freezing, but can’t watch USL on (on assuming) the USL site?

My two tech saviors, so far. This guys seems to know everything when I can decipher what he’s talking about, and he answers questions: http://www.johntp.com/2006/04/19/how-to-increase-download-speeds-of-utorrent/

This is just a post that I found helpful on the topic, so maybe someone else will too:

I’ve watched a number of USL games online this year without a problem. I have heard others having similiar issues though so you aren’t alone. It isn’t perfect, but with a really fast Internet connection it doesn’t buffer or freeze very often.

    Hey Anne,
Great Blog! I’m part of the 1906 Supporters group for the Victory. Please stop by the BigSoccer boards if you haven’t already done so. We are die-hard fans and would love to chat it up.
