Growing up in Iowa, practicing corner kicks and headers on a cold, muddy field was fun, but it didn’t exactly make me footie-mad. A decade later, though, after quiting my corporate America job and traveling around the world, I was hooked. From Turkish pitches covered in a foot of snow, to pick-up games amongst Cambodian temples, scary Italian games at the Stadio Olympico, and serene Moroccan beach games, my fascination with the beautiful game has grown. Back home in the US, I’ve found great local talent, and now captain the California Victory Blog. I’m excited to write for and be a part of the awesome Offside community.
